Job Description
The Senior Payroll Analyst ensures accurate processing and recording of the US payroll. Working closely with the People (HR) team and US Finance team, provide timely and accurate payrolls. Participate in daily data entry payroll processing and related tax duties. Serve as supervisor, mentor and ongoing resource to payroll staff.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain payroll information by designing systems; directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data (support provided via Talent)
- Update payroll records, benefit coverage, savings deductions, job titles, and department/ division transfers.
- Perform daily payroll department operations; responding to inquiries and updating and validating information.
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Understanding the proper taxation of employer paid benefits
- Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
- Execute time and attendance / holiday processing and interface with payroll US
- Process off-cycle and relocation metrics
- Pay employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts.
- Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
- Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Project management of continued enhancement and management of payroll processing across specific regions
- Ability to accept new assignments quickly and easily and juggle competing needs
- Know when to ask for assistance
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, Timberline
Excellent communication, customer service and analytical skills
Ability to grasp concepts quickly and be a creative problem solver
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet changing deadlines
Understanding of a large volume payroll and HR processes
