Job Description
The US Payroll Analyst is responsible for proactive collaboration with key internal business partners within the Global Payroll organization. This role is responsible for processing payroll to ensure compliance with rules, regulations, and laws. The US Payroll Analyst role requires independent thinking and actions in handling the payroll analysis and validations. Knowledge of pay regulations, overtime compliance, Federal and State Tax legislations are important. The individual must be able to creatively think of ways to connect and combine large volumes of data from a variety of sources and ensure an accurate and compliant payroll. This role will support initiatives to streamline payroll processes, policies, and controls, which include the following:
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate data files are provided to payroll vendor to process payroll, includes 3rd party files, e.g., timekeeping, stock, relocation, benefits, retirement, rewards, commuter benefits, deferred compensation, etc. – US and Canada Employee Population
Validates payroll reports ensuring that systems compute and correctly processed the earnings & deductions, company and mandated employee benefits, taxes, garnishments, time & attendance and other items that affect net pay and/or company liability
Review manual checks and pay related adjustments processed in the payroll system
Assists with third party payroll system implementations and upgrades
Interprets pay policies, (e.g., holiday worked, overtime, calculation basis for deductions, government regulations, withholding exemptions, etc.) and ensures appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to the various accounts correctly
Verifies compliance with government payroll requirements, stays current with changes in the law
Assists with internal or external audits of records, worker’s compensation, tax filings, SOX, and other related documentation (compliance)
Analysis and validation of payroll processing results using technology through reports and macros
Perform audits of data prior to payroll completion and follow all established controls
Complete post payroll audits and reporting, prepare metrics and track errors using technology and reporting tools
Root cause analysis including constructive and preventative actions (CAPA)
Documents payroll processes and procedures
Assist and participate in payroll projects or change requests, review of current payroll processes to identify areas of process improvements and standardization.
Respond to complex payroll related inquiries from employees and/or key stakeholders within stipulated timeline.
Payroll related data are handled in accordance to the company’s guideline for confidential data handing process
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced
Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2
years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD,
MD)
• Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) or American Payroll Association (APA)
certification
• Exposure on knowledge transfer activity such as transition planning,
documentation of process, desktop procedure, payroll checklist, etc.
• Knowledgeable on ADP Globalview,, eTime Timekeeping system and Workday
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources or relevant
field or equivalent experience of 5 or more years of US/Canada payroll
experience as an Analyst/processor for a large multi-state employer
• Has adequate knowledge in payroll regulation and statutory of US/Canada
payroll.
• Able to maintain good working relationship with payroll vendor and
stakeholders
• Has experienced handling different payroll and timekeeping system
• Good in verbal and written communication skills with customer service and
interpersonal skills
• Advanced Excel level, proficient with all other MS Office applications
• Meticulous with strong analytical, organization and planning skills, extreme
attention to detail and a self-directed individual
• Ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate multiple projects to timely
completion, and manage many detailed tasks.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast paced, hands-on, growth-oriented work
environment with tight timeline.
• Strong customer-focus, results orientation.
• Ability to work independently, with positive attitude, flexible, and a willingness
to learn new things
Additional Information
** Work Hours:** Varies upon the needs of the department.
** Travel Requirements:** This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
** Mental/Physical Requirements:** This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 88,200.00 to 112,500.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
