Job Title: Payroll Administrator III
Job Summary:
The Payroll Administrator III will work under the direction of the Payroll Manager and be responsible for processing multi-state, multi-subsidiary payrolls ensuring all essential functions are completed timely and accurately. This position regularly exercises discretion in the review, audit and maintenance of employee timesheets and payroll accounting records. Administers a variety of payroll adjustments and changes to employee payroll data, when necessary. Works to ensure accuracy of records, and ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
Based in the Seattle, WA area, only local applicants will be considered.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of reconciliations, reporting, and compilation of data as it relates to payroll and benefit related functions
Regularly participates in audit processes for internal/external audit requirements
Processes wage garnishments, levies, and other involuntary court-ordered payments
Responds timely to payroll related question, leave accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits, and other applicable issues from staff members
Generates accrual entries as required
Maintains accurate Worker's Comp, Geo, and Occupational codes
Audits time entries for accuracy as it relates to OT, PTO, calculations, or other related information
Ensures accurate and timely processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions, and terminations
Uses automated system to process and produce precise and prompt payrolls
Compiles, analyzes, prepares, and inputs payroll related information into applicable systems
Ensures that company policies are adhered to as it pertains to payroll related items
Reviews and reconciles errors, processes payroll adjustments
Responsible for assigned payroll groups
Acts as backup for other payroll groups
Participates in maintaining and processing wage determinations, unions, 7i, SCA, DBA, and Uplift employee transactions and rates
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Intermediate computer skills with proven understanding of payroll systems
Possesses a thorough understanding of the importance of confidentiality and non-disclosure according to the general standards set forth by HIPPA
Must have an ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy and tact, excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
Exhibits team player mentality, and enjoys collaborating efforts within and outside the department
Experience with payroll processing within the Construction industry preferred
Experience with government contracts and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and familiarity with unions preferred but not required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Cloud based payroll systems, preferably Ceridian Dayforce
Ability to multi-task in an organized manner daily with variable deadlines
Education and Experience:
Minimum 2-year associate degree in Accounting, plus 10 years payroll experience, or 4-year bachelor's degree in Accounting with minimum 5 years' experience with payroll systems.
Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
