Job Description
As a Payroll Administrator or Senior Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for all of the payroll processing, reporting and associated taxes for the Company. You will work with employees, other departments, and management to ensure that payroll is processed correctly, taxes are paid timely and expenses are reflected accurately within our ledger and audit documentation. You will manage associated reporting for taxes, budget and the individual reporting required for 1099s & W-2s.
Hybrid position, with regular visits to the Binghamton Home Office for team meetings. Reliable internet service is required for the role.
Description of Duties & Responsibilities of a Payroll Administrator:
• Process payroll bi-weekly for Company and associated entities.
• Draft and file tax deposits and tax reporting for multiple states and entities.
• Calculate accruals for all wages, taxes and payroll-related liabilities.
• Reconcile wages, benefits, taxes and withholdings monthly.
• Report on payroll budget quarterly and annually comparative to expectations.
• Manage 1099 & W-2 processes, from generation to review and distribution.
• Calculate and process non-routine payrolls.
• Work closely with HR to resolve payroll questions, employee classifications, etc.
• Communicate with employees to resolve questions, ensure correct withholding, etc.
• Compile and review audit documentation for various internal and external audits.
• Research payroll inquiries, multi state legalities, etc. as needed.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities of a Senior Payroll Administrator:
• Handle more complex processing issues.
• Provide processing support.
• Assist with training.
Required Skills & Experience of a Payroll Administrator or Senior Payroll Administrator:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting or Payroll is required. Internship experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting is required.
• Experience with accounting and payroll software is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and organize a heavy workload.
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Education Required: Associate’s Degree in Accounting is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is strongly preferred.
Pay Range:
• Payroll Administrator: $20.84 to $29.00 hourly
• Senior Payroll Administrator: $23.68 to 33.40
The starting pay rate for this role is based on a variety of relevant factors, including location, education, experience, and skills.
The level for this position will be determined based on factors including relevant skills, experience and other qualifications.
