MP's Client is one of the largest independently owned insurance brokerage firms in the country providing a full range of employee benefits, compliance, and HR consulting services, along with retirement solutions for both the private and public sectors. The business was formed in 2008 and today serves over three million participants nationally in the K-12, Corporate and Government markets. MP's Client is hiring a full-time Payroll Accountant (remote) for their Partner Firm.
JOB SUMMARY:
This role is responsible for benefit deductions, expense reimbursement, posting journal entries and completing invoicing while assisting in projects as needed. The position plays a key role Payroll and Benefits, assist with Month End close, assist with invoicing, and contribute to project including but not limited to audit and integration work. The position is a hands-on role that values a team member that can trouble-shoot and provide guidance on how to grow and succeed. Integration projects will require frequent interactions with leadership at the National Office and other partner firms. During month end close this position will be requested to complete a list of journal entries and complete other basic accounting tasks.
- Working with the Accounting Manager by assisting with the month-end close process.
- Assist with any invoicing projects or cycles assigned.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll submissions, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Work with UKG support to stay in compliance with local, state, and federal payroll tax regulations.
- Maintain accurate and organized payroll records, including employee information, tax documents, and benefit deductions.
- Ensure payroll-related intercompany charges are recorded accurately.
- Prepare and submit reports to management, as needed.
- Anticipate quarterly and monthly commission, bonus and partner compensation cycles and prepare accordingly.
- Assist with providing budget to actual variance explanations.
- Assist with the annual merit increase and incentive compensation process.
- Work with National Office HR on projects; including integration of new acquisitions, open enrollment, and audit requests.
- Provide UKG software training to team members as needed.

- Utilize UKG payroll to help keep pace with the growth of the Partner Firms
- Maintain a curious mind, question, and research new methods to complete payroll responsibilities.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required preferably in Accounting or Business-Related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of payroll experience; preferably experience with UKG, ADP, or another large software provider. Experience in financial service or related industry. Experience working with offshore entities preferred.
- Knowledge/Skills: In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, taxation, and exposure to general accounting. Knowledge of Microsoft SL is a plus! High attention to detail with numbers, work well with people, anticipate impacts of workload, meets deadlines, and has a very positive work attitude especially during longer hours of peak periods.

- Location: This is a fully remote position! Please note, there could be occasional business travel. If local, we also have opportunities to work in an office (hybrid) if preferred. Offices are in Brentwood, TN, Dayton, OH and Greenville, SC.
- Compensation Range: $60,000 - $75,000 per year + 4% safe harbor 401(k) match
