- Prepare and process payroll for exempt and non-exempt multi-state employees across all entities.
- Compile, prepare, reconcile, and pay commissions monthly.
- Efficiently perform all necessary functions to process in-house payroll in a timely fashion. This includes but is not limited to analyzing, preparing, and submitting payroll data for all employees, benefit deductions, and tax withholdings
- Administer and evaluate timesheets and resolve any timesheet discrepancies
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, payroll practices and procedures
- Resolve payroll issues
- Uphold payroll policies to staff
- Process quarterly, fiscal and calendar year-end reports and assist with year-end audits.
- Prepare monthly commission accruals and other payroll related data for GL.
- Plan direct, and coordinate payroll activities and resources to ensure payroll deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Maintain all withholding and other tax compliance for all states applicable.
- Reconciliation of quarterly and annual payroll tax filings to monthly journal entries.
- Providing auditors with accurate and relevant source documents and reports.
- Working with Finance and legal team to register for payroll in new jurisdictions.
- Audit Pre-Check reports and provide changes as needed on import template and approve Final Pre-Check reports.
- Responsible for ensuring all appropriate withholdings are applied to an employee's pay.
- Run the payroll reports for the finance team.
- Record payroll to the general ledger software after each payroll
- Import the payroll reports into the accounting system.
- Associates degree or bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Accounting degree is preferred.
- Mastery level of payroll knowledge and application of payroll, labor, federal and state tax reporting, and policies/practices.
