Payroll Specialist Accountant

SUMMARY: Provide accounting support to the ownership & departmental personnel by ensuring data integrity of financial information, providing timely & accurate reporting to management, safeguarding company assets, and maintaining internal controls. Reviews data and creates accounting records within the accounting system.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares and records bi-weekly payrolls for Bear Homes, Bear Development, Construction Management Association, Bear Services and Bear Property Management.
• Over sees the set-up and changes for any team members within ADP.
• Maintains all employee folders.
• Records and submits payment requests for benefit insurance premiums.
• Tracks employee Vacation and PTO.
• Prepares and records Commissions.
• Updates and balances FSA account.
• Supports Human Resources with new hire packets.
• Provides requested supporting documentation for audits and tax preparation
• Prepare and maintain accounting transactions within accounting system.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent
• One to three years related experience or equivalent.
• Familiarity with construction standards and terminology.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Acute attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Excellent computer skills
• Familiarity with AppFolio and Pro Contractor software.
