COMPENSATION: $50K-$55K
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Billing our customers flawlessly and collecting payments timely is the goal. The Payment Specialist is responsible for accurate application of payments and bank reporting key to cash management. This is a cross-functional office team member within the department, who is cross-trained to aid others in Accounts Receivable.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
•Process and post payments in the accounting system to customer accounts and daily reporting of all receipts
•Reconcile and keep an updated record of the deposit account
•Process special payments like class wallet, credit cards, spiffs, freight claims, chargebacks, and special events
•Assist with special invoicing needs
•Perform tracking for prepays and chargebacks
•Process credit card fee accruals
•Process bank reporting: Daily Collateral reports and Ineligibles reports
•Update checkbook
•Verify and release (post) invoices to our accounting system
•Perform Contract Fee accrual reconciliations
•Process new vendor registrations
•Perform payment resolution and problem-solving tasks on a regular basis
•Processing of the un-booked sales report (UBR)
•Daily team collaboration with internal and external customers
•May participate in collateral and financial statement audits
•Cross functional training and assistance as needed
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
•An associate degree from a college or university with a major in accounting or comparable training and/or experience
•Knowledge of bookkeeping principles, methods, and practices
•Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, and Outlook
•Previous payment processing/billing and/or collections experience; high volume performance preferred
•Requires strong analytical/critical thinking skills
•Ability to prepare clear and concise reports
•Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high quality of work
•Ability to work independently
•Possess strong time-management skills and the ability to appropriately prioritize
•Ability to manage a variety of activities and functions simultaneously
•Requires strong customer service skills with the ability to promptly respond to requests and effectively manage difficult situations in a professional manner

NOTE: All Meteor new hires are expected to attend an in-person cultural orientation which requires travel to our home office in Gainesville, FL. Employees may also be required to travel and attend annual company meetings and events. All business-related travel expenses will be paid for by Meteor per our company travel and expense policy.
