Part TimeStaff Member
This position can be flexible to work around school schedules. Must be willing to work Friday and Saturday shifts along with other days of the week as well. We offer 3 shifts . . . 9:30-2 pm, 1 - 5 pm, 9:30-5 pm. The hours per week will be approximately 20 hours but could be more. This Staff Member's main responsibility will be working the Front Desk. This includes checking in guests, making sure rules are being followed, and taking the appropriate payment.
Office:
· Assist in all aspects of opening/closing procedures of the Museum, including operating the admission desk, phone, and other office duties
· Maintain a clean and safe environment at all times
· Oversee cleanliness of admission desk and office spaces
· General activities will be reviewed weekly with the Operations Director
· Take a leadership aspect of opening/closing procedures at the museum, including manning the admission desk, phone, and other office duties
· Take an active lead overseeing the operation of the admission area, including daily admission and membership sales, and new visitor orientation
· When scheduled, take an active lead in manning the admission desk and providing excellent customer service
Floor Monitor:
- Conduct, inspect and monitor (walk-through) the museum's facilities to ensure that the exhibits are working properly, and the museum is in good condition to ensure public areas are welcoming and visitors concerns are proactively addressed
- Note and report broken exhibits to Maintenance personnel
- Along with Operations Director, ensure that current health/safety standards are followed by all staff
- Along with Operations Director, ensures that all staff participate in daily upkeep of exhibits including opening, closing, walk-through, and cleaning procedures during each shift

Requirements - Education and Experience:
- High school degree or equivalent
- Experience in office setting and customer service
- Minimum one year experience working with a team in an office setting.
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office applications)
Requirements – Skills:
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to exercise sound judgement in emergency situations and respond with appropriate action. CPR certification a plus
· Commitment to high quality customer service and guest experience.
- Exemplary organizational skills and attention to detail
- Represent the Museum with professionalism and integrity
- Spanish language proficiency (not required, but very helpful)
Physical Demands
Stamina and physical endurance to work on the museum floor for most of the shift. Ability to lift, twist, turn, kneel, and other physical activities, as well as stand for extended periods of time (up to 4 hours).
Work Environment
This job operates in a busy indoor environment where crowded conditions and moderately noisy sound levels are common. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, as well as cleaning supplies and equipment.
