Position
Sapphos Environmental, Inc. is seeking a part-time Biological Resources Analyst to conduct document review, monitoring of construction activities, and report preparation for environmental compliance, inventory, and inspection work in the Central Valley.
The position includes working with the following disciplines:
1. Biological resources regulatory framework
2. California Environmental Quality Act/ National Environmental Policy Act
3. Biological expertise and practices consistent with USFWS and CDFW guidelines
4. Field work in various environments and diverse weather conditions
5. Technical writing
6. Research
7. Software and equipment
Approximately 16-24 hours of work weekly, depending on the applicant’s availability.
Responsibilities
· This position will primarily consist of document review to ensure environmental compliance with applicable permits.
· Assist with biological surveys of project sites, often in remote locations, based on CDFW and/or USFWS guidelines. Navigate and collect data using a GPS device.
· As required by project scope or directed by project manager, communicate with the USFWS, CDFW, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Land Management, and other appropriate agencies and parties.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree (or currently pursing) in Biology, Natural Science, Environmental Science, or other closely related field
· Must have valid driver license and good driving record
· Work effectively under minimal supervision.
· Capacity to excel in a teamwork-driven environment.
· Knowledge of avian biology, mammalogy, and herpetofauna a PLUS.
· Experience with botanical resources a PLUS.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
