Ophthalmic Technician (Temple, TX)
Texas Vision has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Ophthalmic Technician to join our ophthalmology practice (and work-family!) in the Temple area!
Our Ophthalmic Technicians serve as ophthalmologist-extenders that help us fulfill our mission to provide the very best care and experience for our patients. Furthermore, this role will often be the first and the last impression that each patient has within our office. Because of this, it’s a very important position within our practice, where you can have an immediate impact on patients.

Ophthalmic Technician Duties
- Triage patients and record consistent and accurate documentation of patient's medical history
- Obtain patient’s chief complaint and screen (e.g., visual acuity, confrontational visual fields, measure IOP, pupillary check, ocular motility, dilate pupils, check blood pressure, etc.)
- Communicate with team members, team leaders, and physician about patient care and efficiency
- Communicate with patients using a caring tone and provide thorough communication before and after their visit with the physician, providing education as needed
- Prep exam room and patient charts for physician
- Perform diagnostic testing, including macular OCT imaging, Lenstar, Visual Fields, etc.
- Prep for and assist with in-office procedures as needed
- Potential opportunities to assist in In-Office Surgery! (Cataract and Lens Exchange Surgeries!)
Qualifications
- Previous Experience Providing Patient Care in Medical field (Preferred)
- Fluent in Spanish (Recommended)
- Ophthalmic Experience, 2 year (Recommended)
- Growth-Oriented, Willingness to Learn

Pay:
- $18.00 - $19.00 per hour, depending on experience.
