The Aspenwood Company, a leader in the Senior Living industry has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Operations Specialist in the Greater HoustonArea.
The Operations Specialist will assist the Vice President of Operations in supporting new and existing communities. This role will be involved in all areas of community options, including life enrichment, sales, wellness, dining services, etc., and will serve as a backup Executive Director for communities in need. In addition, the Operations Specialist will assist with the rollout of new initiatives and is responsible for ensuring that strategic goals established are communicated and implemented accurately and effectively to community teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Act as Executive Director at communities during transition of position.
- Responsible for training and mentoring Executive Directors or other director roles as requested.
- Assist with disciplinary actions and annual performance reviews.
- Assist with the creation of an Executive Director in training program.
- Complete special assignments related to community operations, compliance, wellness, resident, family, or associate satisfaction, dining services, life enrichment, life safety, community aesthetics, training, and staffing.
- Provide hands-on assistance with start-up communities.
- Assist with training of current or new software.
- Complete and submit reports accurately and timely.
- Supervise all areas of operations at assigned communities.
- Provide hands-on assistance to help turn around challenged communities, focusing on staffing challenges, licensure and compliance, satisfaction, and census development.
- Take a hands-on approach to community site visits, participating in staff meetings, resident meetings, and all operational challenges.
- Ensure that communities adhere to city, state, and federal regulatory requirements organization’s policy and procedures, to minimize risks and legal exposure.
- Conduct Quality Assurance audits.
- Assist with monitoring the integrity of The Aspenwood Company programs.
- Ensure that residents, families, and employees’ concerns receive timely responses and provide a high level of customer care.
- Oversee specific reports as assigned.
- Assist on special projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or healthcare administration required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of successful experience as an Executive Director. Community turn-around experience is preferred.
- Assisted Living Certification is preferred but not required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong performance orientation and exemplary leadership qualities preferred to drive a cohesive team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members such as senior leadership, owners and investors, colleagues, and customers.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level.
- Ability to interact effectively with Executive Directors to direct workflow, assess performance and assign duties.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule, travel to various communities, and adapt to changes in schedule.
