Job Description
About us
Eli is the women's health company making continuous hormone monitoring possible. We empower people to understand their body every day and improve their health outcomes across their lives. Hormones are at the core of our health, yet they remain a black box. Eli is on a mission to unlock this box by developing a product that provides real-time and lifelong insights from saliva.
We are a diverse, intentional, and fast-moving team driven by our mission. You will work with a small group of experienced engineers, scientists, and entrepreneurs who are shaping the future of at-home testing by developing and commercializing new technology. Eli is a venture-backed and early-stage startup. You can visit our website or check out recent press articles to learn more about us.
About the role
Eli is looking for an Operations & Finance Manager to join our core team. You will be one of the first key hires outside the R&D team, collaborating directly with the CEO and other team leaders. You will leave an indelible mark on the company and its operating culture. Your primary responsibilities will be to:
Non-dilutive funding: Work closely with the CEO and our non-dilutive funding expert to achieve ambitious goals, lead strategic funding proposals with the support of various teams, and scale our existing process from grant application to project reporting.
Key strategic initiatives: Support the CEO during fundraising efforts. Help prepare and review investor updates, board meetings and decks, investment decks, legal contracts, financial reporting and forecast, and other high-value collateral. Provide insights and analysis to inform strategic conversations.
Team/internal operations: Work with our leadership team to set, align and track company goals. Lead company-wide operational meetings. Help recruit and onboard new hires. Drive cultural initiatives.
Special projects: Act as a swiss army knife filling in gaps in the organization. This could include helping the CEO or another team member execute the company’s highest priorities on a given day or week while working on longer term special projects and strategic initiatives. Based on your profile, those special projects could have a focus on marketing/go-to-market, finance, science/technology, product, manufacturing, or clinical/regulatory affairs.
About you
You have 3+ years of exceptional operational experience in tech, consulting, venture capital, or other rigorous roles requiring a blend of analytical and strategic skills.
You have a proven ability to lead strategic initiatives and projects end-to-end in a cross-functional environment on tight deadlines, an asset if in a startup.
You are comfortable modeling with financial data and analysis (in collaboration with our fractional CFO), as well as dealing with legal documents (in collaboration with our general counsel).
You are a system thinker who can see the big picture, yet you are meticulous and pay close attention to necessary details.
You have superior written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to be accurate and concise.
You are bilingual. More than 90% of our operations are in English, but some important grant applications and reporting are in French.
If you don’t exactly match the description but still believe you are the right person to join the team, please reach out. We value mindset and character.
Why you’ll love working at Eli
You’ll work with a group of talented and mission-driven people eager to improve women’s health at scale.
You’ll be part of the core team developing and commercializing the first product that collects hormonal data daily and over a lifetime.
You’ll join at the early-stage startup phase and have a wide-reaching impact in a constantly evolving and fast-paced environment.
You’ll be part of a small (<20 people), high-performing, and diverse team where everything you do results in tangible impact and shapes the company’s trajectory.
You’ll be in an environment where people drive their own work, think creatively about open-ended problems, and solve them proactively.
You’ll get health insurance (medical, dental, vision, and more) to ensure you and your family stay physically and mentally at your best.
You’ll have flexibility over your schedule and vacations. We seek to hire great people, then give them the autonomy and space they need to achieve their goals.
Although our office and R&D facilities are in Montreal, we have a distributed team. We prioritize asynchronous workflows and minimize meetings to focus on the work itself.
You and your +1 will have unlimited free access to the Bota Bota spa in Montreal to recharge.
