Job Description
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for providing high-level operations and administrative support to the Tribal Council. The Operations Coordinator will report to the Tribal Council while liaising with key Jamul Indian Village departments to include but not be limited to: Finance, Human Resources, Gaming Commission, Jamul Department of Transportation, Tribal Security, Cultural Monitoring and the Enrollment Office. They are responsible for maintaining all office organization including incoming and outgoing correspondence, filing, monitoring day-to-day administrative functions, and providing all necessary office support functions. Assists all divisions of the Tribal Council with support services.

The ability to maintain confidentiality relating to highly sensitive information and discussions is a key component of this position.
essential Duties, functions & Responsibilities- Perform administrative and office support.
- Assists with clerical duties as requested including assisting with schedules, meetings, and travel arrangements for council members.
- Assist the Tribal Council with special projects as needed.
- Handle all office correspondence, including but not limited to telephone calls, postal mail, e-mail. Screen incoming calls and correspondence for the Tribe and the Tribal Council. Ensure that calls and correspondence are distributed in a timely fashion.
- Word processing and handling documentation preparation.
- Maintain office equipment, which includes preventative maintenance, and repair coordination.
- Maintain supply inventory and ordering of office supplies.
- Accompany Tribal Council at trainings, conferences, and other off-site meetings.
- Position will be the back-up for the Tribal Council Secretary by recording the council meeting, transcribing council directives and council minutes. Will be responsible for staff meetings and other working meetings as needed.
- Travel is required.
- Must maintain an acceptable departmental attendance record.
- Must be reliable and prompt when reporting to work.
- Required to attend job related, in-service, meetings, and training to maintain professional and technical knowledge.
- Evaluate and recommend revisions to internal processes as applicable to increase efficiency.
- May be required to satisfactorily complete skill proficiency testing requirement(s).
- Must adhere to tribal law and other applicable laws and tribal personnel policies and procedures.

- Three (3) years of experience as an Operations / Administrative Coordinator or in a similar administrative support to leadership role. Tribal Government experience or knowledge is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills that support and enable sound decision making.
- Excellent attendance and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality.
