Join us for an internship experience that offers real-world project involvement within a supportive environment alongside ample opportunities for professional and personal growth. At this time, we are seeking a Construction Inspection Intern in our Houston, TX office for the summer semester (June-August). This internship will be a full-time hybrid position working 40 hours a week.
The Construction Inspection Intern will work alongside the Woolpert construction management team working on aviation and/or road and bridge construction projects. Some projects could be bridge deck overlays or replacements, roadway patching, paving, or reconstruction, airport runway or taxiway construction, electrical (nav aids, lighting, conduit, etc..) or, subgrade stabilization – to name a few. All these projects directly impact the communities where we live and work.
- Work as a member of an industry leading construction team
- Assist construction managers with inspections of construction projects and materials for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and approved construction plans/specifications
- Gain real-world experience by working on actual projects alongside experienced inspectors and project managers
- Assist on a variety of projects spanning clients and disciplines.
- Work as a member of a team that coordinates with other internal teams and external subs and clients.
- Perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence
- Evaluate, select and apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria
- Assists with performing quality control reviews and quality assurance procedures within areas of expertise
- Reviews and interprets construction documents, site drawings, as-built drawings, and specifications
- Produce daily and weekly reports

- Be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university, preferably with at least sophomore status
- Pursuing a Civil Engineering or construction management degree (or related field)
- Have a general interest in construction management / inspection
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Have a good attitude
- Be self-motivated and self-reliant
- Have exceptional multitasking and time management skills
- Have reliable transportation
- Ability to analyze and program independently
- Applies professional judgment and discretion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
