Job Overview:

The Beach Club Operations Coordinator is a key position within a dynamic team serving one of the premier Master Plan housing communities in the nation. The right candidate enjoys interfacing and assisting people, working collaboratively in a team and possess exceptional customer service skills and is self-motivated. This position is under general supervision of the Beach Club Operations Manager, and assists in and performs planning, coordination and implementation of maintenance and operation functions at the Beach Club.

Compensation: $24-27/hr

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Job Responsibilities:


In addition to all other duties and responsibilities described within the generic job description for Beach Club Operations Coordinator, the following specifically apply to this position. Other duties may be assigned.

Beach Club Operations:

  • Under the supervision of the Beach Club Operations Manager provides oversight of the Beach Club Lagoon and service vendor contracts with the Beach Club Operations Manager.
  • Oversee vendor's compliance to agreed service contracts and bring to the Managers attention all concerns and/or issues. Assist with contractual agreements with vendors and contractors.
  • Assist and lead in the lagoon opening and closing operation procedures.
  • Monitor the service request receiving process and assign related work orders in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance plans in accordance with established procedures.
  • Enforce all applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Mentor seasonal associates and monitor sub-contractors in the areas of performance, compliance with contracts, and supply purchases.
  • Report performance of seasonal associates and sub-contractors to the Beach Club Operations Manager.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of Beach Club seasonal associates.
  • Assist in monitoring Policies and Guidelines.
  • Assist in coordinating and administering all facility usage (Fiesta Room rentals, Snack Bar vendor, etc.)
  • Perform daily periodic inspections to ensure that all lagoon operations, areas, and equipment used by guests is clean, safe, relevant and in good working order.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement any programs or initiatives which would increase operational effectiveness, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Take initiative to act without need for prompting. Recognize and address maintenance standards and problems quickly and decisively.
  • Initiate registration and supervision of all boating activity.

Beach Club Administration:

  • Share responsibility for all front desk operations. Including but not limited to, telephone, clerical activities, providing access cards, park and clubhouse reservations, interfacing with residents,
  • Provide tours of the facility to members interested in renting the Clubhouses.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of office area.
  • Keep all filing current and maintain well-organized files.
  • Maintain the office space and as well as maintaining inventory and replenishing office supplies and scheduling equipment maintenance.
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly usage reports for the Board of Directors as follows: usage, closures, and maintenance and/or repair projects.
  • Assist in report writing as designated.

Miscellaneous:

  • Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned.
  • Coordinate and attend designated meetings and functions as requested.
  • Required to work SAMLARC events as needed, including holidays, weekends or evenings.
  • 40-hour work week will include weekends.

  • First Aid and CPR certificate within 6 months.
  • Must be able to handle pressure and deadlines related to the job.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Bilingual Spanish helpful.
  • Excellent general math skills.

Education & Experience:

  • Must be knowledgeable of principles and practices of Park & Recreation and related maintenance requirements and possess an Associate's Degree or equivalent with emphasis in Recreation or a closely related field.
  • Two (2) years of full-time experience in recreation, property management and/or facility maintenance, one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified Pool Operator certificate (must be obtained within 12 months of employment)
  • Knowledge of pool operations, including but not limited to, filtration, circulation. Etc.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Must have experience in using database software.

Physical Requirements & Working Environment:

  • Must be able to lift 25lbs.
  • Must be able to visit and inspect recreation facilities and job sites.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be mobile enough to move around office.
  • Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced ability for up to 4 hours in length.
  • Must be mobile enough to move around within the office and throughout the venue.
  • The work environment characteristics are normal office conditions.
  • Consistent and regular attendance required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position assists in monitoring sub-contractors and is responsible for overseeing the part-time Beach Club seasonal associates.

Travel:

  • Possess dependable transportation, a valid California State Driver's License, and the state mandated vehicle insurance.
