Your Responsibilities
As an Operations Accounting Analyst for John Deere Seeding Group located in Moline, IL, you will lead the factory's overhead spending budget activities:
- Review and forecast overhead accounts during monthly financial closing, ensuring ledger is accurate; prepare monthly forecast analysis and submission
- Counsel budget owners and factory leadership; drive cost reduction initiatives through insightful analysis
- Prepare overhead structure lines and normal study
- Support ad-hoc special projects related to factory spending, make vs. buy analyses, capital expenditures DCF analysis, and annual standard costing reviews
- Support internal control testing and a strong internal control environment

What Skills You Need
- 4 or more years of work experience in finance or accounting-related activities
- Understanding of financial statements and key financial concepts such as budgets, forecasts, and reconciliations
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or equivalent, having a good understanding of the principles and ability to independently use the knowledge
- Excel proficiency with experience in other Microsoft Office tools
- Independent, self-driven, and capable of working directly with high-level managers
- Detail-oriented, analytical, data-driven, adaptable
- Good communicator, capable of translating numbers into something simple that non-finance stakeholders can relate to and act upon
- Intellectual curiosity and a positive attitude
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with SAP
- Exposure to manufacturing processes and product cost controls
- Demonstrated experience in influencing without authority
- Experience with Power BI and/or PowerQuery
- Financial certifications: CPA, CMA, CGMA
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in an Accounting/Finance discipline
