This role will support the Morton Grove Plant Manager in reviewing the integrity of the business system data and in supplying accurate and timely key performance indicators (KPI’s). Support the Operations Director in the interpretation of the data and delivery to senior management in order to identify areas of opportunity and to drive cost saving and efficiency initiatives, develop and manage value added financial analysis and reporting and measuring performance to goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist senior management to understand positive/negative trends and to identify areas of opportunity.
  • Provide high-level detail and analysis to senior management for special projects such as production scheduling, insourcing of product and staffing levels.
  • Analyze the integrity of the data inputted into the QAD MRP system and work with department managers and supervisors to correct discrepancies and drive process improvement.
  • Be a part of several continuous improvement teams/projects to help drive a positive change in operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Utilize analytical skills to assist in the operational monthly rolling forecast and annual budget process.
  • Support operations in generating and quantifying savings opportunities as well as support to management in the implementation of cost reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor and validate operational efficiency saving initiatives.
  • Prepare for publication monthly financial and business schedules/charts required as part of the book utilized for monthly operations business review meeting held by senior management.
  • Participate in monthly financial performance reviews with each Business Unit manager
  • Assist with Capital Investment Project and any special manufacturing operations requests by preparing the appropriate cash flow analysis documents to ensure adequate financial data for obtaining investment approval by senior management.
  • Oversee approved Capital Investment Project spend until placed in service and perform return on investment analysis as required.
  • Lend support of newly developed operational key performance metrics that are reported at a global level.
  • Assist in generating and publishing weekly, monthly and fiscal year-end schedules and reports required.
  • Assist in continuous improvements to the monthly and annual forecasting/budgeting process.
  • Develop and maintain and utilize SQL queries to enhance the process of analyzing data as required. Utilize tables within access for quick data extractions when feasible.
Qualifications

The Individual

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, cost accounting or related field.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in an analyst role. Preferably Operations, cost accounting, Inventory or Project management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with MRP system; QAD preferred
  • Experience with is TM1 is required
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and presentation skills.
  • SQL writing experience is preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel demonstrating a working knowledge of pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s and other Excel functions & formulas. PowerPoint. Ability to use SQL or Crystal report writer is preferred although the ability to develop reports would be a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills (both written and oral).
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and focus.
