Job description

With Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska, you'll serve the over 50 rural communities in the Yukon Delta Region who come to us for care. Serving the people of Southwestern Alaska, the Yukon-Kuskokwim Hospital is a 50-bed general acute care medical facility. Fully accredited by JCAHO, services include adult med/surg, pediatrics, obstetrics, emergency room, as well as outpatient family medicine clinics, pharmacy, lab, and imaging.
Position Summary: Responsible for overall Dental office management, including but not limited to doctor/assistant scheduling including temporary and contract positions, coordination and scheduling of dental externs, supply ordering, equipment maintenance coordination, ability to answer basic dental inquiries, mail, office layout, and staff supervision including the Dental Assistant Supervisors, Patient Registration Specialist Sr. and Administrative Support Staff.

  • Minimum Education: Master Degree in Business, Administration or Human Services required. Training sufficient to have acquired and developed the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the functions of the position preferred.
  • Minimum Experience: Minimum of Four (4) years' experience in dental area. Four (4) years in management preferred. Experience working in cross-cultural environment preferred. Knowledge of rural health issues.
  • License, Certification, Registration: Driver's License
  • Equipment/Tools Computer proficiency with various software and database systems, calculator, multi-line phone, fax/copy machine (as needed).
  • Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Computer skills with ability to type 40 wpm; operate 10-key calculator and other standard office equipment. Ability to speak, write and understand standard business English. Ability to use basic work processing, spreadsheets, and database programs. Good interpersonal skills. Must be able to complete a variety of tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload, and meet reporting and completion deadlines with attention to detail. Ability to communicate in Yupik is preferred.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises Inventory Specialist, Patient Registration Specialist, Sr., and Case Manager
