About Us:
Go Hike Alaska was founded in November of 2018 with a vision of providing guided Alaskan hiking experiences to adventurers from around the globe. We offer a diversified lineup of unique Alaskan experiences featuring a variety of guided day hikes, foraging & cooking classes, historical city tours, helicopter flightseeing & hiking combos, and multi day backpacking trips.
Lifetime Adventures was founded in 1993, but was acquired by owner, Matt Worden in 2023. Under prior ownership, Lifetime Adventures offered a variety of experiences throughout Alaska, including its well-known cabin on the Eklutna Lakeside. Currently, its sole operations include providing bike & kayak rentals and a variety of guided tours at Eklutna Lake. We hope to grow its operations back to greater Alaska soon.
JOB SUMMARY:
This position will support two businesses: Go Hike Alaska and Lifetime Adventures. Our Office Manager has a big role in providing customer service to guests, logistical support for guides, administrative support for the team, and much more. This position’s responsibilities include taking reservations, communicating with potential and actual guests by phone and email, scheduling guides, and vehicles, working with tourism partners, attending trade shows and other special events, assisting with creation of marketing materials, sharing information among team members, scanning documents and other administrative work.
We’re looking for an individual who is comfortable, confident, and passionate for communicating with people. Customer service is a large part of this position. We communicate using the phone, email, and in-person. The candidate should be well-organized and capable of using technology and the internet. We use both FareHarbor, a reservation system, and Connect Team, a scheduling application. This position requires booking guests into FareHarbor, as well as scheduling guides using Connect Team. The priority candidate should also be able to type well, scan & sort files, and provide a variety of other administrative support.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
·Provides customer service with clear communication through phone, email, and in-person.
·Books reservations for guests using FareHarbor reservation system.
·Schedules guides, vehicles, rentals, and other resources using FareHarbor and ConnectTeam.
·Assists owner with administrative tasks: scanning, filing, cleaning, answering phone & email.
· Communicates with partners by helping with reservations and answering questions.
· Builds relationships with new travel partners, advisors, resellers, and other parties.
· Attends and promotes businesses through webinars, trade shows, and other special events.
· Maintains professionalism and respect towards others during difficult situations.
· Assist with creation of marketing materials: brochures, signage, decals, rack cards, etc.
· Assist with social media marketing by posting images, videos, reels, and advertisements.
· Sorts and files images and videos collected by businesses.
· Displays responsiveness in communication with other employees and guests.
· Works either in-person or in a hybrid work format. Two days in the office are mandatory.
· Clocks in and out using a timesheet.
· Guiding opportunities may be possible for the right candidate.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to work well both independently and with a team.
· Experience scheduling employees or other resources, like rentals or vehicles.
· Experience using a computer and internet. Past users of reservation systems are given priority.
· Ability to type 40 wpm, and use Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
· Passion for adventure and spending time in the wilderness.
· Comfortability interacting with others.
· Excellent customer service skills with a presentable, well-groomed personality.
· Punctual and reliable.
· An undergraduate degree is a plus, but not required. Degree holders may be given priority.
