We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Customs Clearance Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and compliant movement of goods across international borders. The Customs Clearance Officer will work closely with customs authorities, shipping agents, and other stakeholders to facilitate the timely clearance of shipments while adhering to relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
Customs Documentation:Prepare and review customs documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and other required paperwork.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with customs regulations for import and export activities.
Customs Clearance:Interface with customs authorities to facilitate the smooth clearance of shipments.
Coordinate with shipping agents and carriers to resolve any issues related to customs clearance.
Regulatory Compliance:Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and trade compliance laws.
Advise internal teams on compliance requirements and ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
Classification and Valuation:Classify products according to the Harmonized System (HS) and determine accurate customs valuation.
Provide guidance on tariff codes and duty rates applicable to specific goods.
Communication:Effectively communicate with internal teams, customs officials, and external partners to resolve clearance issues promptly.
Respond to inquiries from clients and stakeholders regarding customs-related matters.
Problem Resolution:Proactively identify and address customs clearance issues to prevent delays in the supply chain.
Collaborate with relevant parties to resolve any discrepancies or challenges in the customs clearance process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Customs Clearance Officer or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, trade compliance, and international shipping processes.
- Familiarity with tariff codes, HS classification, and customs valuation.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
