OFFICE ASSISTANT - 20 hrs/wk, days
The Office Assistant is responsible for the coordination of office tasks such as but not limited to, answering phones, registering patients, maintaining accurate electronic and paper medical records and providing excellent customer service. S/he will greet and interact with patients, providers, co-workers and families in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
Essential Functions:
Updates patient information including demographics, insurance updates, confidentiality authorizations and making necessary changes and revisions as needed when interacting with patients or representatives.
Creates electronic medical record for all new and established patients.
Utilizes protocols created to scan all paper recorded medical record information into the electronic medical record before upcoming patient appointments.
Scans paper documents received by office into patient medical record and labels appropriate documents within the electronic medical record.
Schedules appointments within each provider schedule based on availability and need for appointment. Confirms upcoming appointments with correct date, time and location.
Reviews insurance needs with patients while scheduling appointment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required and previous experience in a similar setting highly preferred.
