TITLE:Airport Operations Support
PAY RANGE: $20-$22/Hour
REPORTS TO: Deputy Airport Manager
Responsibility Level:
Under direction of the Operations Supervisors, this entry level Airport Operations Support position performs assigned tasks related to providing airfield access to flight crews, passengers, contractors, vendors. These duties must be performed in a safe, timely and efficient manner in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
This is a part-time position working flexible five (5) hour shifts. Must be available to work twenty (20) hours per week Monday-Friday. Shift Hours: 7am-12pm, or 12pm-5pm. This position may require working mornings, evenings, and holidays, occasional graveyard shift.
Essential Duties:
- Providing airfield access to flight crews, passengers, contractors, vendors by opening/closing access points: doors, vehicle and pedestrian gates. Ensuring airfield security compliance by checking identification and providing escort when necessary.
- Meeting, greeting and handling flight crews, passengers, vendors and fellow employees in a friendly and professional manner.
- Maintain a high level of situational awareness in regards to the movement of customers and aircraft using the FBO facilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, field and answer questions. Drive a company provided vehicle and communicate with the operations office via radio.
- Responsible for maintaining the customer use areas. This includes keeping the lobby tidy, stocking the lobby coffee service and pilot lounge amenities.
- Assist the Operations and Ramp Supervisor with answering incoming calls, logging and dispatching radio equipment, rental car keys, customer personal items/packages, and catering deliveries.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Read, write, and speak English.
- Work harmoniously with fellow workers.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
- Follow established safety regulations and practices and use available safety devices and PPE.
- Ability to maintain airport qualifications as they relate to job functions.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Two years of customer service and sales experience preferred.
Licenses, Registrations and/or Certificates:
- Must pass mandatory drug screenings, criminal background checks & obtain security clearance.
- Must maintain a valid Class C motor vehicles operator’s license as issued by the State of California.
- Completion of the Customer Service Training Program within first 90 days.
- Completion of ALL Cal/OSHA required training within first 90 days.
