Job Summary

MetTel is seeking a bright, highly motivated hands-on technical individual to join our team. This position will focus on establishing, growing, strengthening and supporting MetTel's Secure Infrastructure implementations and providing technical solution to MetTel's customers requiring network visibility and security solutions.

BS or MS with 2+ years of SDWAN w/routing experience including VMWare Velocloud SD-Wan and Fortinet Firewalls. (Configure, Deploy, Support).

Job Description

Hands-on technical role within Customer Engineering requiring diverse technical skillsets needed to guide customer network installations consisting of VMWare Velocloud SD-WAN, Fortinet (FortiGate) Firewalls, Managed WiFi (FortiAP and Adtran BlueSocket), and Fortinet/Cisco/Adtran switches. Position reports directly to the "Director Customer Engineering – Data Networks" and takes direction from the Team Lead(s) within the group. The position deals directly with customers and requires the ability to manage customer expectations and maintain a positive demeanor 100% of the time.

Competencies

• VMware Velocloud SD-WAN Design, Implementation, and support.

• Fortinet Firewall (FortiGate) Design, Implementation, and support. (Familiar with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer)

• Adtran Switch management via NCommand.

• Cisco IOS Routing and Switching / CCNP R&S

• WAN Technology (MPLS, MP-VPN, SD-WAN)

• AWS and Azure Cloud configuration and management.

Duties/ Responsibilities

• Design, Implement, and Manage SD-WAN, Cloud FW, switching and routing solutions for customers.

• Lead customer installations and provide guidance to Service Delivery organizations.

• Lead Engineering review meetings with customers and provide designs specific to their technical needs.

• Manage all assigned trouble tickets to ensure they are completed within SLA.

• Provide Tier4 support for Teir2 and Tier3 departments during outages.

• Ensure all customer installations are properly monitored via Intermapper.

• Create and maintain accurate detailed drawings and procedural documentation for each customer.

Education and Experience Requirements

• BS degree majoring in a technical discipline (Network Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc.)

• 2+ years of hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting data networks.

• 2+ years of experience working with multi-vendor infrastructure. Specifically with VMware Velocloud SD-WAN and Fortinet security appliances.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Cisco CCNA Certification 2+ years hands-on experience with VMware Velocloud SD-WAN and Fortinet Firewalls. (Configure, Deploy, Support).

Other duties

• Maintain a positive demeanor when dealing with customers.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Provide on-call support off-hours including weekends.

• Ability to work occasional weekends to support customer turn-ups. (Flexibility in work hours is highly desired.)

• Position may be remote or on-site depending on candidates' location.

• The salary range reflected is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $100,000 -$145,000 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and abilities of the successful candidate.
