Job description

Key Objective(s):

The main purpose of the Senior Network Engineer is:

  • To execute the daily operations of IT Security/Network/VOIP related needs of the organization. This includes direct support for the IT Network Security infrastructure equipment, in addition to network support. This position will also assist with disaster recovery, business continuity / execution and server backup management and policies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in firewall management and administration, network administration, vulnerability management, patch management, security configuration, data protection and intrusion protection.
  • Establish and maintain standards by supplying functional documentation, including diagramming, for cross training and support purposes as directed
  • Expertise with Azure and/or AWS cloud security
  • Responsible for execution of security policy and security initiatives. Initiatives include vulnerability management, security patch management, security configuration, and phishing metrics.
  • ISP escalation path and security
  • Firewall administration for both private and public environments
  • Multifactor Authentication and SSO integration
  • Intrusion Detection System administration
  • Network Security utility administration including SYSLOG, Arctic Wolf, Sentinel One, MS 365, Cisco Firepower/FMC.
  • Review network activity logs and security system
  • Work with the IS Security Manager to resolve various network security compliance items as they come up from penetration testing
  • Participation in IT Security committee
  • On call coverage participation

Desired Qualifications:

  • Job holder may be called upon to provide support for service issues or failures at any time.
  • Expert knowledge and experience of technical security concepts including risk assessment, cloud security, data protection, vulnerability assessment, secure configurations, security patch Management, DLP & Rights management.
  • Proven knowledge of technical infrastructure, networks, databases, and systems and how they affect an organization's cybersecurity risk.
  • Preference for someone who is familiar with a variety of social media platforms and how to stay ahead and educate the organization on security threats and mitigation techniques.
  • Proven knowledge of information technology systems, network infrastructure and operations including cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Expertise in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)
  • SSCP, CCSP, or CISSP credential is a preferred
  • CCNA or greater is a preferred
  • Experience with Structure cabling systems, copper, fiber, low voltage construction, reading blueprints, floor plans, electrical drawings, telecom drawings is a plus
  • Experience with Cisco ASA, IOS-XE IOS-XR, ACU,ISE, NEXUS
  • PRTG administration
  • Protcols: OSPF, BGP, IPV6, Infoblox, Infoblox Grid Admin, IPSEC tunnels, SSL VPN, CIS V8
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science related subject required with 10-15 years of experience, or a combination of equivalent experience and credentials.
  • Must have a proven ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, and with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Regular, reliable, and consistent attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
