Job description

Seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join the Network Engineering team. You will provide thorough, responsive service to all users and enjoy facing technical challenges, building, and enhancing environments, testing, and documenting network designs with a keen interest in root-cause analysis.

The individual needs to show a keen interest in technology, this role requires an individual with effective communication and interpersonal skills that can establish and maintain an excellent relationship with technology and finance teams. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on technical senior network operation engineer in the US region, working on a team of junior to senior engineers responsible for all deployment and operational aspects of the network. 
  • Technical knowledge, experience, and hands-on support to efficiently troubleshoot issues network and non-network related. 
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance/escalation to support teams, as needed, for critical production issues and incident management and reporting. Urgently analyze and troubleshoot production impacting issues.
  • Monitor the performance, reliability, and operations of the global network with careful regard to availability, security, compliance standardization and change management. 
  • Work independently and with team members to manage all day-to-day operational activities and processes. 
  • Independently manage projects, updates related to project status, tasks based on incidents and incidents tickets.
  • Deliver technical projects with guidance from engineering/architecture team while owning responsibility for overall planning, execution, and success of initiatives, including network deployments (enhancements and new build outs), migrations, and upgrades based on defined standards and best practices.
  • Assist with complex moves/adds/changes to the environment, as needed. 
  • Work with Senior Operations Managers to improve on eliminating recurring incidents.
  • Support infrastructure teams in regression testing functionality and stress testing from a network perspective

Required Background:

  • 8-10 years solid knowledge and experience of network routing and switching technologies, multicast expertise, public cloud networking, and network hardware.
  • Cisco/Arista Datacenter and Campus network routers/switching platforms, understanding of SDWAN architecture and protocols.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers. Good understanding of remote access technologies including Citrix, Prisma Access (GPCS), IPsec VPN
  • Understanding of IP multicast routing, managing, troubleshooting and deployment of large-scale multicast architecture for trading applications
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills and ability to work collaboratively with other infrastructure teams across the firm, globally. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and can adapt to changing business needs.
  • Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational, highly self-motivated, and capable of working under pressure.  Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, detail oriented.
  • Self-disciplined, self-starter and team player who can work to resolve complex incidents.
  • Detailed knowledge of network, transport and application protocols, BGP/MP-BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VPC, 802.1Q, VxLAN, eVPN, BFD, use of underlay and overlay routing protocols, network monitoring (syslog, streaming telemetry & packet-captures), HTTPs, FTP, 
  • Extremely proficient with network management, monitoring and troubleshooting tools (sniffer, syslog, NetFlow, TCPDUMP, Wireshark)
  • Understanding of public clouds such as AWS and Azure
  • Hands-On knowledge of wireless and NAC technologies standards and protocols. 
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, propose effective solutions, understand, and apply business vision / direction. 
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes, specifically Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience across multiple networking vendors such as Palo Alto, Cisco and Arista
  • Experience supporting and implementing large scale multitenant datacenters, Network Access Control, Remote Sites, Branch Sites, Wireless and network segmentation solutions.
  • Experience creating documents such as runbooks, Visio drawings and updating configuration standards.
  • Some understanding of Linux, Windows servers, VMware, SAN and hyper-converged systems such as Nutanix
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks 

 

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $125,000-$150,000. 
 

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual's experience level and qualifications.
