This position will be responsible for the management, administration and technical support for AT&T Government Solutions National Security/Emergency Preparedness (NS/EP) Program Wireless Priority Service (WPS) probe program. As a member of the NS/EP program management team, this individual will assist in managing/leading/coordinating with other partner organizations (i.e., Labs and Mobility) responsible for providing support for AT&T’s GETS/WPS wireline and wireless Priority Services (PS 2) contract in addition to the being responsible for the WPS probe program.
AT&T has an opening for a Senior Network Performance Engineer who will be responsible for monitoring the WPS probe program in support of achieving performance targets, including: day to day program management, RCATSONE Dragonfly and Infovista TEMS Sense remote test probe configuration and management, data integrity measurement and monitoring program to ensure accuracy and completeness of key performance indicators; develop cross functional responsibility matrices, processes, tools, and tool specifications in support of these programs; perform end to end root cause analysis of failure conditions; summarize, prepare, and present the status, results, and key findings of these programs at a detailed engineering level and in high level executive readouts.
Duties/Responsibilities:
This as a full stack role, from data gathering and data integrity management to data analysis automation to escalating root cause investigations and managing SLA misses.
Specific duties are as follows:
Recurring Daily Activities:
- Review data and reports for data completeness and investigation triggers
- Investigate anomalies by analyzing and correlating existing data sources to determine, characterize, and log root cause
- Collaboratively researching outliers with RAN and OPS teams where root cause can’t be determined by data analysis and correlation
Recurring Weekly Activities:
- Review data and reports for data integrity
- Perform high level trend analysis to identify, characterize, log, and report on the drivers of favorable or unfavorable trends
- Prepare high level weekly site outage trend and analysis report for readout on the weekly performance calls
- Collaboratively escalate and follow up on any significant unfavorable trend drivers or data integrity problems
Recurring Monthly Activities:
- Perform detailed trend analysis to thoroughly characterize drivers of any unfavorable trends
Prepare detailed trend analysis report for readout on the monthly operations reviews and Executive readouts
- Raise escalation level of any lingering unfavorable trend drivers or data integrity challenges
Other Activities:
- Creating and maintaining test scripts for automated testing on RCATSONE Dragonfly and Infovista TEMS Sense remote test probes
- Designing and automating data integrity reports
- Designing and automating availability trending and analysis reports
- Planning for future program evolution, new technology introductions, etc.
Required Clearance:
Must be a US Citizen and possess or be able to obtain Secret (#secret) (#clearable)
Required Qualifications:
- Requires network operations experience.
- Experience accessing AT&T data systems
- Knowledge of end to end wireless network architecture and operations
- Requires advanced big data analytics, pattern recognition, and data analysis automation skills.
- Data analysis and data analysis automation using SQL, Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
- Experience writing SQL queries to pull and summarize data from Oracle/MS SQL Server databases
- Requires experience with RCATSONE Dragonfly and Infovista TEMS Sense remote test probes.
- Strong deductive reasoning skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for relationship building, information gathering and reporting
- Strong collaboration skills for cross functional investigations and escalations
Desired Qualifications:
- Preferred Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent experience.
- Typically requires >10 years’ experience.
Our Senior Network Performance Engineer’s earn between $120,000 - $150,000. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
