Network Engineer

A retail company in New Jersey is actively seeking an experienced IT professional to join their staff as their new Network Engineer. In this role, the Network Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the overall network architecture requirements, design and implementation in a cloud first approach.
***This is a Hybrid opportunity requiring the qualified professional to work onsite at least 3 days a week.***
Responsibilities:
The Network Engineer will:

• Assist 3rd party management of IT networks including design, monitoring, support and Change Management across Azure, Cisco, Juniper, and Versa technologies
• Ensure the environment is updated, patched, and maintained in a timely manner
• Provide subject matter expertise, guidance and mentoring on all the enterprise network
• Identify opportunities to improve the technical landscape assisting in the design, documentation, costing, and implementation of new infrastructure solutions
• Support IT Project teams in delivery of wider IT services and applications, ensuring adherence to IT infrastructure best practice and standards
• Assist in IT Change Board as needed, driving best practice in IT Service and Change Management
• Support Network Core, Firewalls, Switches, Routers, SDWAN, VPNs, Wireless Access Points, and other associated equipment (both on-prem and cloud)
• Ensure data and trend analysis are performed monthly for Infrastructure team
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience working in a similar role with LAN / WAN / TCP-IP / Firewalls / Switching / Routing configuration and administration (Cisco/Juniper/Meraki)
• Experience with network security protocols and procedures
• Experience operating in both build' and run' IT operating models, working with support and project teams
• Experience in designing and maintaining a secure, resilient, and stable distributed environment consisting of 100+ sites
• Solid problem solving and time management skills
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized

Desired Skills:

• Microsoft Azure (cloud infrastructure) experience
• Microsoft Azure or AWS, CCNA & Microsoft certification
• Experience implementing SASE
• Experience with a Retail organization
