Job Responsibilities
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Central Office, 2414 Bull Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
As the Network Administrator, working under general supervision, you will provide technical assistance, consultation, and training on DMH approved hardware and software while maintaining network infrastructure with security and defense in depth strategies to facilitate the DMH Mission while keeping the agency within IT/Healthcare regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities for this Network Administrator include but are not limited to:
  • Install, configure and maintain the Data Center Server infrastructure.
  • Install, configure and maintain the Agency backup/storage system.
  • Install, configure and maintain the Virtual Server Environment and provide OS support.
  • Assists in Administration of the VPN, Web Filter, and System Configuration Management and Monitoring Tools.
  • Assists in Endpoint Security deployment and response.
  • Communicates information from Network Services to various levels of staff in DMH.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or a related field and experience in information technology systems or a related area. Relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Comments
The selected candidate must have the knowledge of Microsoft OS - Server 2016 & 2019, Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft System Center Products, Microsoft Office Products, MAC OS. Availability to work occasional nights/weekends. Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) lbs. May require some travel.
