Overview:
Maintain a reliable, secure, and efficient data communications network. Deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor all active network equipment to ensure smooth network operation. Secure all networks from the WAN to LAN side of the organization. Maintain all servers, hardware, and monitor resources as needed to ensure a stable infrastructure for all users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fully support, configure, maintain, and upgrade networks and servers.
- Monitor virtual servers and resources (such as memory, CPU, and storage utilization) and adjust as needed to ensure stability and growth of company.
- Work with our Global IT colleagues in Europe to design, plan and execute infrastructure changes.
- Install and integrate new server hardware, applications, and periodic software / OS updates.
- Support, administer, and define allowed third-party applications.
- Proactively monitor and ensure network security and connectivity at all times.
- Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses.
- Maintain and minimize outages caused by Network and Server failures. Proactively create, report, and set triggers for outages to alert IT immediately and minimize downtime.
- Work with Global IT to resolve DarkTrace security reports and patch all vulnerabilities.
- Maintain in-house software solution using Visual Studio.Net.
- Work with all departmental managers to update HR slides, production, and safety reports.
- Resolve annual and periodic network and active directory Audit reports by Global IT
- Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
- Maintain and keep organized our Active Directory, DHCP and Printer Services
- Maintain organization’s internal production MS SQL Database used for reporting by management.
- Work closely with maintenance, controls engineers, and production teams to resolve OT issues, display production data, and create new reports for management.
- Resolve + assign appropriate priority to problems reported by end users via internal ticketing system.
- Define network policies, procedures, and maintain healthy network segmentations.
- Resolve common problems surrounding Office 365 services and solutions.
- Maintain and update organization’s SharePoint website for each department.
- Specify system requirements and design solutions to scale with growth of organization.
- Research and make recommendations on server system administration
Professional Experience:
- Proven experience in a network / system administrator role
- Hands on experience in networking, routing, switching.
- Hands on experience in server administration, MSSQL database
- Proficient in working with all Office 365 services and solutions (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.)
- Proficient in working with Visual Studio.NET to maintain in-house app and work with Controls Engineers
- Ability to work on multiple projects both locally and with Global IT and prioritize work.
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, monitoring of server infrastructure
- Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Ability to set up and configure server hardware.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
Education and specialized skills profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- 5 years or more experience with working with IT in a manufacturing setting
- SQL programming, Visual Studio.NET, Access databases, Office 365
- Proficient in analyzing, critical thinking, prioritizing, organizing, and multi-tasking with passion to learning to adapt to changing tech demands
Environment and Behavioural profile:
- Candidate will be exposed to loud noise that may exceed 87 decibels.
