Position: Network Administrator 1 - Repost
Under the limited supervision of a supervisory official, in a state department, institution, or agency, or in a local government agency, performs complex professional work which includes development, implementation, and maintenance of multi-network, multi-user Local Area Networks (LAN), Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN), and/or Wide Area Networks (WAN); maintains centralized, decentralized, and remote network services; maintains network security and data integrity; provides consultations and recommendations to infrastructure managers, as required, to troubleshoot and resolve network problems, monitor overall performance, and conduct upgrades as required; may be assigned to the administration of Storage Area Networks (SANs); does other related duties as required.
-Maintaining and repairing hardware including peripheral devices
-Evaluating network performance to improve the network
-Scheduling upgrades and maintenance without interrupting business workflow
-Providing technical direction and giving training to coworkers about network systems
-Working with vendors to get needed equipment for the networks and systems
-Clear knowledge on CISCO framework under K-12 educational environment
-Configuration, management and maintenance of firewall and network security
-Open DNS content filtering system, Wireless system, Cisco phone system
-Manage data centers and equipment
-Configuration and maintenance of both Windows and Mac based servers
-Configuration, deployment, management and maintenance of staff and student devices including staff and student laptops, desktops and iPads
Training and Certification:
COMP TIA A+, MCP/MCSE,CCNA are desirable certifications
Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree that must include or be supplemented by a minimum of eighteen (18) semester hour credits in mathematics, computer science, information technology, and/or computer information systems
NOTE: Applicants who do not possess the Bachelor's degree, but possess the eighteen (18) semester hour credits, may substitute additional experience as indicated below on a year-for-year basis with thirty (30) semester hour credits being equal to one (1) year of experience
NOTE: Evidence of formal training in Computer Science or Information Technology received from or evaluated by an accredited institution of higher learning may be submitted with your application. Applicants must provide documentation from the accredited institution that clearly outlines the training course(s) that are acceptable and the corresponding number of credit hours for the training to be accepted. In-house courses (such as training provided on the job or through the appointing authority) will not be accepted
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of multi-network, multi-user Local Area Network (LAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), and/or Wide Area Network (WAN) environments
NOTE: For positions involved in the administration of a Storage Area Network (SAN), in lieu of the above experience requirement, applicants must have three (3) years of experience installing, configuring, and supporting network hardware and software, one (1) year of which shall have been in planning, implementation, and support of SAN and related technologies
