Takara Belmont is a leading manufacturing company providing dental and beauty equipment and services worldwide for over 100 years. Is seeking a hands-on System and Network Administrator in our Somerset, NJ facility.
Summary:
Immediate opening for a talented hands-on System/Network Administrator to work on site at Takara Belmont facility. This will include implementing and maintaining new technology, infrastructures, maintaining existing information systems, upgrading current software, databases, and Networks, as well as enforcing company standards. The System/Network Administrator will work as part of a 2-person team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design and deployment of new server hardware and applications, company LANs, WANs, wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware.
- Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Helps ensure all production environments are configured for high availability to maximize uptime.
- Ensure adequate design, capacity options, redundancy, and overall end-to-end network responsiveness.
- Test and maintain network security and remote user access to ensure network security and connectivity.
- Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) while testing for weaknesses.
- Monitor, respond to and resolve circuit outages, degradation and hardware failures and utilize various tools to isolate impairments in LAN/WAN network environments.
- Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
- Analyze and document system issues and make recommendations as needed.
- Coordinate with Help Desk to troubleshoot and resolve problem
- Troubleshoot network connectivity across MPLS, VPN, and SharePoint WAN facilities.
- Research and make recommendations for new technology.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in a Network Administrator role
- Hands on experience in networking, routing, and switching.
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
- Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired.
- Ability to set up and configure server hardware.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
