Marcum LLP has an immediate opening for Sr. Network Admin with Jr level Network Engineering skills to join their internal IT Team to support the network infrastructure of the firm nationally. The Sr .Network Administrator /Jr. Engineer will be part of large scale network planning; plans, implementation and configuration of infrastructure projects, technical processes and procedures as they relate to Network Engineering.
The Senior Network Administrator / Junior Network Engineer must have the ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and have hands on R&S and Wireless Experience. CCNA preferred.
10% travel may be required nationally.
Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant job experience and/or technical training. Recent grads with 2 years of internships in Network Engineering or Administration may be considered.
  • Experience supporting wireless network infrastructure using Cisco WLC or Aruba/HPE and Ekahau Pro for predictive and/or active surveys
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of IT infrastructure with focus on core network technologies, such as routing, switching, collaboration and network security. Cisco/PaloAlto product preferred
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of network routing protocols, EIGRP, BGP.
  • Basic knowledge of next generation firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, web proxies, remote access VPN, site-to-site VPN, IPsec, GRE and other security practices
  • Basic knowledge of core switching designs such as VLAN, RSTP, HSRP, LACP and 802.1Q
  • Basic understanding of different WAN technologies, such as SDWAN, MPLS, Metro Ethernet, Ethernet Private Line (EPL), DSL, etc.
  • Basic understanding of datacenter operations, such as network cabling, power, cooling and monitoring (APC Struxureware a plus)
  • Basic ability to troubleshoot network systematically; this includes understanding the infrastructure from the front and back end as well as how the employee will utilize the applications
  • Ability to follow configuration standards to stage network equipment and ability to upgrade IOS to meet current standards
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with logical problem solving from Layer 1 through Layer 7 of the OSI model
  • Ability to perform basic network troubleshooting, using command line utilities and monitoring tools
  • BS in related technology field, or equivalent experience
  • Willingness to gain additional certifications
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take ownership of problems and/or issues and ensures timely resolution
  • Ability to Participate in 24x7 system support rotation and handle escalations
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - Routing and Switching, Wireless, Voice/Collaboration, Security or Datacenter. CCNP a plus.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Knowledge of modern datacenter designs, using Cisco technology (eg. Nexus) such as VPC, VDC, OTV, FEX a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams Direct Routing and Integration with Cisco Session Border Controllers is a plus
  • Experience with SDWAN technologies such as Prisma SD-WAN (formerly CloudGenix) is a plus
  • Experience with SASE solutions such as Prisma Access or Zscaler is a plus
  • Additional vendor technical certifications a plus (Palo Alto, Citrix, VMware, etc.)
  • Experience documenting network design and related processes using Microsoft Visio

Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations of network infrastructure; duties include the monitoring of utilization and response time along with detection and correction of operational problems
  • Work with the senior engineers to proactively identify opportunities for improvement of network technologies
  • Use project management and, professional level verbal and written communication skills to provide excellent customer service
  • Participate in planning design, technical review and implementation of network infrastructure
  • Identify potential problem areas and develop comprehensive solutions
  • Communicate and work with vendors when necessary in order to complete specific datacenter projects and operational functions relating to network cabling, power and cooling.
  • Establish and maintain technical procedures, configuration standards and troubleshooting methodologies
  • Effectively listen and respond to business and IT objectives along with shifting needs based on new work. Must have the flexibility to adapt to changing environment/requirements and manage multiple tasks.
  • Work with the Management to continually reassess current practices, identify deficiencies and/or areas that can be improved
  • Generate documentation as requested pertaining to a variety of areas inclusive of though not limited to new network implementations, DR procedures, Visio's and KB guides
  • Maintain and track system and application changes through change management approval process.
  • Utilize security tools to audit and maintain internal accounts and access controls.
  • Continually audit and monitor systems for deficiencies and perform necessary maintenance as required, such as IOS upgrades and security updates
  • Participate in Firm Mergers and Integrations in varying capacities
  • Work directly with other groups in the department on new implementations and various project work
  • Able to transition various high level infrastructure process to other IT team's and/or team members once they have achieved operational status
  • Be part of IT Governance and Change Management processes
  • Participate in 24x7 network support rotation and handle escalations
  • Participate in maintenance windows off hours pertaining to routine network maintenance, large scale network projects of firm mergers.
