Responsibilities:
Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring an MTS Software Development Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Plan, design, develop and/or test software systems for software enhancements and new products. Set operational specifications and formulate and/or analyze software requirements. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments. Partake in all phases of the Software Development including system requirements analysis, coordinating feature design and development across functional and organization boundaries. Utilize expertise with computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products. Can work remotely.

Qualifications: Degree required
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in job offered or closely related software engineering or development role.
Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will alternatively accept a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of experience in job offered or closely related software engineering or development role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
For either combination of education and experience, position requires:
Two (2) years of experience in Unix and Linux Environments; C or C++; Linux and Windows Internals; Designing and developing test applications to validate hardware and software functionality; and Test-Driven Development. Requires One (1) year of experience in Designing, developing, and integrating various SDKs into popular Game Engines; and Developing core technologies for GPU-accelerated features. Can work remotely.
