  • Open-source research and analysis: Analysts must conduct in-depth exploration of real-time open-source analysis sites, reviewing information sources and conducting research and electronic searches linking California and the fusion center area of responsibility with international and domestic events.
  • Analytical product development: The analyst shall develop and provide analytical products, including threat assessments, trends analysis, information bulletins, special event assessments, and tactical information, for partner agencies in the urban area.
  • Compliance with laws and regulations: Analysts must ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, adhering to the professional standards identified by the fusion center, the Anaheim/Santa Ana UASI, and/or Orange County Sheriff's Department.
  • Emergency response availability: The analyst must maintain some after-hours availability and demonstrate a willingness to respond to the fusion center during emergencies.
  • Use of analytic tools: Analysts shall use various analytic tools to create charts, maps, timelines, and link diagrams to effectively demonstrate analytical findings, including target relationships and event sequences.
  • Briefings and presentations: The analyst must provide routine briefings to law enforcement and partner agencies, delivering clear and concise information on a variety of topics related to public safety and security.
  • Additional duties: In support of the fusion center's mission, analysts must perform other duties as assigned by the fusion center, contributing to intelligence, case support, and other relevant tasks as directed by Center leadership.
