ABOUT THE POSITION:
Under general direction, the Meter Program Coordinator will plan, organize, coordinate, and perform field and office work related to the District Well Metering Program; maintain Well Registration Program and provide technical support to the Water Demand Division related to Water Distribution System Permitting; receive and resolve meter reads and questions; provide technical direction related to the Meter Program, and establish field relationships and access agreements with well owners. Monitor acquisition and accuracy of meter reads and follow up with well owners to verify. Lend assistance as needed to the Streamflow, Groundwater, Project Operations, Fisheries, and Riparian Programs. Provide excellent customer service.

Since 1978, The Monterey Peninsula Water Management District has worked diligently to augment the area's water supply, promote water conservation and the integrated use of reclaimed water and repair, and improve and augment the environment along local streamside habitats. The Water Management District serves approximately 112,000 people within the cities of Carmel-by-the-Sea, Del Rey Oaks, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Seaside, Sand City, Pebble Beach, Carmel Highlands, and Carmel Valley. Our sources of revenue include, but are not limited to property tax, user fees, water connection charges, investments, grants, permit fees and project reimbursements.

Experience
Two years of customer service experience and two years of work experience involving meter maintenance code enforcement or a closely related field.
Education/Training
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
License or Certificates:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid driver's license.
BENEFITS:
Salary range for theMeter Program Coordinator: $66,881.16 - $81,294.60
- Retirement - California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS), 2%@55 for Classic Members and 2%@62 for PEPRA Members.
- Medical, Dental, and Vision - MPWMD covers 95% for employee and qualified dependents.
- Life and Long-Term Insurances - MPWMD covers 100%.
- Short-Term Disability - MPWMD covers 50%.
- Vacation - Ten (10) days per year for first three years of service, with progressive increase up to 20 days/year after 8 years.
- Sick Leave - Twelve (12) days of sick leave per year.
- Holidays - Eleven (11) recognized days plus two (2) personal days paid per year.
