Job description

Job Description:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Mental Health Clinician will provide confidential evidence-based Mental Health counseling, consultation, crisis intervention, and debriefing services that promote the well-being of 4Cs students. Working collaboratively with the faculty and staff and other well-being services in a holistic manner, this position is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion across all areas of work. This is a part-time, non-benefited position within the clinical program and crisis response team, delivering psychological services to CCCC students and providing consultation to the staff, faculty, and community. The position is a temporary appointment until May 30, 2024. Funding is available for up to 18 hours per week scheduled between 9am-5pm, Mon-Thursday.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
  1. Provide psychological care in the individual therapy format with CCCC credit students. Therapists should be comfortable working in a brief therapy model, generally meeting biweekly and supporting students for 1-2 semesters.
  2. Provide consultation for Wellness staff and campus staff/faculty, as needed.
  3. Case management including coordinating with students, their families, off campus care providers, and on campus support services and documenting contacts. This may include assistance with referrals for students who need longer term or more intensive services.
  4. Provide crisis services, including coverage for urgent care/emergency appointment times across the course of the week and assisting with unscheduled walk-in emergencies. While rare, the counselor could also be responsible for coordinating involuntary psychiatric holds ("Section 12") with staff eligible to apply for such holds, or in coordination with other Wellness clinicians and local emergency services.
  5. Follow all related departmental and college protocols and procedures, including standards for documentation and emergencies.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Terminal degree from an accredited program in social work (MSW) or counseling psychology (LMHC, PhD, EdD, or PsyD).
  2. Licensed to practice independently as a social worker (LICSW), LMHC or psychologist (with Health Service Provider designation) in the state of Massachusetts.
  3. Experience providing clinical services to diverse populations, including people of color and LGBTQIA individuals, and an ability to respect differences in Mental Health care needs across cultures and other identities.
  4. Experience consulting with collaterals, including family, emergency services, other medical providers, and other support service providers.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
Two or more years of experience in college Mental Health.
Equivalency Statement
Applicants who do not meet the qualifications as noted above are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience has prepared them with the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required for the responsibilities of this position.
Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: Due to position requirements, the rate of pay is anticipated to be above the $32/hour minimum, likely in the range of $35-$45 per hour, dependent upon experience and qualifications. Part-time, 18 hours per week through May 30, 2024. Non-benefited MCCC Unit Position.
