Job description

NFI Massachusetts, Inc., a non-profit human services agency, is currently seeking a dynamic and creative Master's level Mental Health Permanency Clinician for 9 youth. This role will also be responsible for providing individual counseling and case management for 3 youth in our adolescent residential program located in Beverly, Ma.
Youth referred to the program are in need of placement to address a range of emotional and behavioral issues. The program offers 24 hour staffing providing support and supervision. Comprehensive clinical services include treatment planning, life skills training, individual/group/family therapy and access to social and recreational resources in the community.
The highly structured milieu provides a safe and predictable environment in which youth can stabilize behaviors, progress in treatment, develop new skills and establish permanent connections to family, or others identified as family or trusting adults. The program specializes in providing youth individualized treatment to support youth to ensure positive permanency outcomes.
In the program, the Clinical Director and the Mental Health Permanency Clinician work closely with the administrative and residential staff to provide dynamic, innovative, and trauma informed care to our youth residing within a congregate care setting, who lack natural and permanent family connections and viable reunification plans.
The essential functions of the role include assessment of the youth's relational connections and youth and family's readiness for reunification; development of the permanency team, family search, identification, and engagement; and coordination of post-permanency services and supports. The Mental Health Permanency Clinician will deliver therapeutic interventions to the youth, who may experience vulnerability, hopelessness and treatment regression throughout the permanency process.
The Permanency Clinician will work in conjunction with the youth's assigned program clinician, who is responsible for addressing youth's primary reason for the referral to the program, including stabilization of emotional and behavioral issues and focus on treatment that ensures the youth's well-being and safety. The Permanency Clinician will collaborate with DCF and other relevant collaterals to solidify a viable permanency plan for each youth served. The Permanency Clinician will assist the clinical department to provide training and consultation to program staff around permanency best practices and will serve on the agency's permanency committee. Services will be delivered on site at the designated program as well as in the youth and family member's home and local community.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the Clinical Director with the overall planning, implementation, and oversight of clinical services provided by the program
  • Assess new referrals to the program and arrange or conduct testing and evaluations as needed.

  • Provide individual counseling and facilitate, develop and/or coordinate clinical in-service training and youth group therapy.
  • Collaborate with program management and staff regarding therapeutic milieu and clinical orientation of program.
  • Act as a liaison with psychiatrist (as necessary) and other agencies providing auxiliary clinical services.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and/or participate in case conferences and clinical review meetings, as appropriate.
  • Be familiar with all program emergency procedures. Provide emergency on-call for program. The schedule may require some weekends and evenings.

  • LMHC, LICSW or LMFT license eligible required.
