Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Secretary to join our team. As a Medical Secretary, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office. Your attention to detail, strong administrative skills, and knowledge of medical terminology will contribute to providing exceptional patient care. Position provides a variety of different experience between hands on patient and administrative duties.
Duties:
- Requires a close working relationship with patients, doctors and staff.
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff members
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Assist with billing and insurance claims processing
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
- Travel to satellite office as needed.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents-
-Responsible for keeping track of doctors continuing medical education hospital application.
-Precertification and authorizations for office and some outpatient surgeries.
-Responsible for obtaining authorizations for diagnostic imaging (MRI and Cat Scans)
-Assist with minor procedures when necessary
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Medical Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a medical office setting
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems such as eClinicalWorks or similar software
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- High school diploma or equivalent

Pay: $43,680.00 - $47,840.00 per year
