Senior Medical Secretary
Duties:
- Answer and manage phone systems, directing calls to appropriate staff members
- Schedule and coordinate appointments for patients, including follow-up visits and referrals
- Maintain patient records and update electronic medical records (EMR) system
- Prepare and process medical documents, such as lab results, prescriptions, and insurance forms
- Assist with billing and coding procedures
- Coordinate communication between healthcare providers, patients, and other medical staff
- Manage office supplies and inventory
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Medical Secretary or similar role
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and documentation
- Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with insurance billing and coding processes is a plus
