Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Secretary to join our team. As a Medical Secretary, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office. Your attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to multitask will contribute to the efficient delivery of healthcare services.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Schedule appointments for patients using medical scheduling software (eClinicalWorks)
- Answer phone calls and address inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate staff members
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Verify insurance information and assist with insurance claims processing
- Handle patient billing and collect payments
- Prepare and maintain medical charts and files
- Assist healthcare providers with administrative tasks as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience working in a medical office setting is highly desirable
- Proficiency in using office software (Microsoft Office Suite) and electronic medical record systems (eClinicalWorks)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
