We're currently hiring for the position of Medical Records Coordinator/ Central Supply.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Meet physical and sensory requirements stated below, and be able to work in the described environment.
- Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve the customer experience, enhance work flow, and/or improve the work environment.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining facility Medical Records system in compliance with Home Office, state and federal regulations.
- Collect, assemble, check and file resident charts, as directed.
- Ensure incomplete records/charts are returned to nursing services for correction.
- Administer the distribution and inventory of resident care supplies in accordance with facility policies and procedures under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
- Assist with Nursing Department activities to include administrative support; assisting residents, families, and visitors, and running errands to include travel to supply sources.
- Degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration or related field from an accredited college is preferred but not required.
- RHIT or RHIA credential (preferred) required OR have a degree in health-related field with extensive Medical Records/Health Information training.
- Minimum of two years (2) experience in a health care facility required; Skilled nursing facility or other long-term care setting with Medical Records/Health Information Management experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of legal, ethical, and professional practice standards as they apply to health information management.
