Summary: Northwest Respiratory Services is seeking a Medical Records Coordinator in our Eagan, Minnesota location. This person is responsible for timely completion of CMNs (Certificate of Medical Necessity) and Prior Authorizations in addition to collecting supporting medical documentation required by regulatory standards for billing.

Job Responsibilities
- Create, send, and follow up on CMN’s and PAR’s.
- Gather supporting documentation required before billing which may include but are not limited to clinical chart notes, physician orders, room air saturation tests, and prescription renewals.
- Follow up with nursing facilities and doctor offices via phone, fax, and email.
- Maintain doctor files in system for accurate fax numbers, clinic addresses, etc.
- Review CMNs and Prior Authorizations for accuracy prior to logging into billing software.
- Submit CMN’s and Prior Authorizations timely.
- Work Pending CMN/PAR Report
- Work various other reports for follow up.
Our top candidate:
- Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and can multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Will possess excellent follow up.
- Must have a good understanding of HIPPA laws on how to handle confidential personal and medical information.
- Should be familiar with medical terminology.
- Must be able to work Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.
Additional, preferred skills:
- Previous experience in DME/HME documentation, terminology or billing.
- Knowledge of Brightree software a plus.
- Knowledge of Point Click Care software is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel
