Job Summary:
The Medical Record Clerk at Nursing South Corp. plays a pivotal role in supporting the operational efficiency of our Home Healthcare organization. This position requires a well-organized and good-spirited team player who can start immediately. The Medical Record Clerk will be responsible for supporting tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations within the division.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Prepare, update, and maintain a medical record for each patient ensuring accuracy of information.
2. Run clinical documentation reports.
3. Obtain and manage all required patient-related documents and authorizations to meet regulatory, policy and procedure qualifications.
4. Charts Audits for Efficiency and compliance review.
5. Review all documentation for completeness and route incomplete documents to the appropriate provider for correction.
6. Coordinates and schedules clinicians following client needs, employee qualifications and availability.
7. Manage Patient satisfaction with appropriate customer service, communication, and follow-up.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year’s experience in healthcare setting as a medical record technician, medical record clerk, unit secretary, or similar position where electronic medical/records processing was part of the daily responsibilities.
- Prefer experience on Quality Assurance in clinical documentation.
- Must be proficient in English and Spanish.
- Proficient in using office software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) and other relevant tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree preferred).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing administrative tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and readiness.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
