```Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Receptionist with billing skills to join our team. As a Medical Receptionist/ Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate insurance information is collected and services are authorized for medical services. You will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to process claims and resolve billing issues. If you have a strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Check in and collect patients copays and balances
- Assist with check -out as needed
- Answer incoming phone calls
- Review and verify patient information for accuracy and completeness
- Enter patient demographics, insurance information, and medical codes into billing software
- Prepare claims for clearing house submission.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve authorization denial
- Answer patient inquiries regarding billing statements or insurance coverage
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate coding and documentation
- Assist with medical record management and retrieval as needed
- Cross train assisiting doctor in examrooms for coverage when employess are on vacation /sick
Requirements:
- Previous experience in medical billing or related field preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures
- Proficiency in using medical billing software (e.g., eClinicalWorks)
- Familiarity with insurance guidelines and reimbursement processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, providers, and insurance companies
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
Please note that this is not an entry-level position. Prior experience in Medical Receptionist/Billing is required.
