Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support to our medical office. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
- Collect patient information and update electronic medical records (EMR) using EPIC
- Verify insurance coverage and assist with insurance billing
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate staff member
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks as needed
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers or specialists
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes
- Ensure the waiting area is clean and organized
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in medical administration is a plus
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as EPIC
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of office equipment and phone systems
- Ability to work well in a team environment while also being able to work independently
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.44 - $22.20 per hour
