A Small but busy primary care practice in Lanham, MD seeks an experienced Bilingual (Fluent in English and Spanish) dependable, and dedicated Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our team. Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records, patient scheduling, and insurance verification are required. Professionalism, excellent verbal communication, and customer service skills are required to succeed.
Qualifications:
Certified Medical Assistant/Or at least 2 years of working in a primary care office setting. MUST submit a resume.
Must be fluent in Spanish and English
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients upon arrival at the medical office
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or payments
- Maintain patient records and update necessary information in the electronic medical records system
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Handle patient inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure smooth operations of the medical office
Skills:
- Previous experience working in a medical or dental office setting is preferred
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide exceptional patient service
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing appointments and patient records
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
