Large, fast paced ophthalmology practice with 4 locations (South Knoxville, West Knoxville, Morristown and Sevierville).

Office is open Monday through Friday, 7:30-5pm.
Salary commensurate with experience.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Check patients in/out, collect any monies at the time of service is rendered. Medical coding experience is a plus, but not required. Answer patient calls and schedule appointments. Balance and complete end of day paperwork.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Checks patients in/out at the front office
- Collects payments as needed from patients
- Schedules return appointments and follow ups
- Assist in maintaining work area and reception areas
- Assist in scanning patient paperwork and insurance cards in appropriate charts
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance
- Ensures confidentiality of medical records and patient information
- Promotes positive interpersonal relationships with fellow employees, physician and patients
- Sends letters as needed to referring physicians & O.D.’s
- Assist in posting payments
- Some travel to both Knoxville offices
- Covers for absent employees at Check-in and Check-out
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong communication skills
- Performs all job duties in a courteous, effective and professional manner
- High School Graduate
