Job Summary:
Dermatology Associates is a high-volume, fast-paced, private medical facility where the work environment is sometimes hectic, oftentimes busy, but always rewarding. The receptionist must be able to multitask as he/she will be working with several applications simultaneously and attention to detail is paramount. This position updates patient accounts electronically and on paper, he/she will analyze and input medical insurance and prepare physical charts.
The Receptionist is the frontline representative of DASWLA. He/She is the first and last person the patient will interact with and as such is an important ambassador of DASWLA. For this reason, it is important to provide a polite, professional, clean and friendly manner at all times. A successful Receptionist must be a team player and respectful of his/her co-workers.
Hours:
Monday through Friday: 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Compensation:
$13.00/hour to $15.00/hour depending on education, current certifications/licensures, and relative experience.
Annual performance/compensation reviews conducted on anniversary date of hire.

Essential Responsibilities:
Greet patients upon arrival, electronic check in and guide patient through kiosk usage.
Verify and/or obtain patient’s insurance card(s) for the practice management system.
Create or update physical and/or electronic health record accordingly.
Maintain knowledge of HIPAA guidelines; protect patient confidentiality.
Maintain providers’ schedules by scheduling, confirming and/or cancelling appointments.
Verify insurance eligibility.
Make necessary preparations for the next business day such as ensuring all required physical charts have been pulled.
Work Environment:
There is exposure to routine dermatological diseases.
There is confidential patient data present in workplace. It is with utmost importance to protect all patient confidentiality.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to repeatedly sit/stand and move about in a tight location for an extended period of time.
Must be able to occasionally move about the office to access shared office equipment or access charts.
Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, printer, fax machine and scanner.
Must be able to position self to maintain computers and other equipment on top of and under the desk.
Must be able to lift or move up to 30 pounds.
Skills:
Ability to speak English clearly and make self-understood.
Good verbal and written communication. Must be able to accurately communicate information to and from patients, providers, coworkers and/or insurance companies.
Correct spelling and grammar.

Ability to utilize the internet for company approved websites when needed for current work projects.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook software.
General knowledge of electronic medical records is helpful, but not required.
Knowledge of electronic medical practice management systems is helpful, but not required.
