Medical Receptionist

General Position Summary: Medical Front Desk Receptionists provide front office support, patient-friendly urgent care center we have in Grand Junction. The receptionist gathers and records required information about patients; provides specific customer services which include screening for financial eligibility, confirming health insurance coverage and individual’s obligations, obtaining necessary authorizations for care, scheduling appointments, phones, billing, cash handling, working referrals, and assisting patients in an office or clinic setting.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Welcome, register and checkout patients. Collect and record patient payments. Respond to patient questions and answer phones.
• Work with the administrative team to ensure that the organization is maximizing its charges.
• Provide administrative support to the clinic manager.

Job Scope:

Position is expected to be able to follow prescribed policies and procedures, and work independently with a minimum of supervision. Expected to contribute as a member of small well-coordinated teams.

Interpersonal Contacts : This position regularly works directly with patients, physician staff, and other clinical staff members.

Specific Job Skills:

• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work well with others inside and outside the organization,
• Excellent detail and well organized
• Able to communicate well orally and in writing.
• Proficient with email, word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Proficiency with Medical Practice Management software.
• Bilingual candidate desired but not required

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma
• 2 years of relevant experience preferred. Experience in another urgent care center helpful, but not required.
• 1-2 years of medical industry experience.
• Spanish Speaking Preferred

Job Type: Full-Time

Rate of Pay: $17.00/hr.+
